📋 Biography

I graduated as an electronics engineer but I've been a software developer since 1981 and officially an MVP since 1996. I initially worked on developing embedded systems for real-time process control systems and tools for programmable controllers using 8085/8086 assembler, PLM-86 & Pascal. I started using 'C' on Windows (V2) applications in 1989 on a programmable controller development tool, and have mostly developed for Windows ever since. From 1993 to 2023 I worked on PC to mainframe connectivity applications, email applications, directory access tools, Microsoft Exchange email gateways, cross platform security applications, and for the latter years on several MS Office email and document classification-labelling products. Although I've used C#/.NET for many years, given the choice, I still prefer modern C++ and its performance philosophy - which I use predominantly in my personal projects on GitHub at https://dave-lowndes.github.io/Jdd_Web/
