I’m passionate about all things technology, from experimenting with new tools to learning new skills and programming languages. I’m currently studying IT & Computing at university. Once I graduate I plan to pursue teacher training, and aim to inspire the next generation in computer science. I enjoy coding in JavaScript, Python, HTML, and PHP, and I’m always eager to learn new skills and share my knowledge with others. In my spare time, I’m active on the Microsoft Q&A community, where I help and support others with Azure, Microsoft Security, Windows, and Microsoft 365. This article provides clear, practical guidance to help users recognise phishing attempts and understand the red flags that attackers rely on. I wrote it because I frequently support people who have had their accounts compromised and saw a need for a simple, accessible resource that anyone can follow. The article helps users of all experience levels stay safe online by explaining real‑world examples, common tactics, and safe alternatives to clicking suspicious links. It has become a reference point I can share with colleagues, students and the wider community to promote better digital safety habits.
