๐ Biography
I am a Cloud Engineer with ten years of experience on the Microsoft stack. I initially started as a full-stack developer and gradually moved into cloud engineering on Azure. My work involves helping organizations adopt, migrate and modernize their IT environments on Azure, combining automation and Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform) with Cloud Adoption Framework best practices to reduce operational complexity and optimize cloud spending. I am the co-administrator of Azure Meetup Casteddu, a community founded in 2025.

In this session I presented the latest GitHub Copilot CLI announcements from Microsoft Build 2026 and showed how the tool can automate the entire development workflow, from issue to merged PR. The session covered key features including plan mode for spec-driven development, core slash commands (/review, /fleet, /pr, /research, /every, /new), parallel multi-model code review, voice mode with speech models, cross-model rubber-duck style review, the new TUI interface, the GitHub Copilot App and the GitHub Copilot SDK, which opens up integration scenarios across browsers, Office add-ins, and custom apps. In the live demo, I built an Electron app with GitHub Copilot CLI to showcase Azure Meetup Casteddu's mascot, the flamingo, as an always-on-top animation reacting to Git lifecycle events, starting in plan mode and switching to autopilot for implementation, including issues suggested by the audience.
In this in-person session "Infrastructure as Code on Azure" I explored the landscape of available IaC tools (Bicep, Terraform, OpenTofu, and more), proposed a decision-making framework for choosing the right one based on your context, and shared universal best practices. I also focused on some key tools and initiatives in the Azure ecosystem (Azure Verified Modules, Azure Landing Zones and Azure Developer CLI) and concluded with a reflection on how agentic AI is revolutionizing the world of infrastructure as code.
This webinar covered Azure Database Migration Service (DMS), a fully-managed service for migrating databases from on-premises or other clouds to Azure data platforms with minimal downtime. I explained DMS architecture, including the Self-Hosted Integration Runtime, private endpoint connectivity and the difference between physical migration and logical migration. I covered when to choose online versus offline migration, common adoption scenarios such as datacenter decommissioning and application modernization The session closed with an end-to-end PowerShell demo, from compatibility assessment and SKU recommendation to schema migration and offline migration, using the Az.DataMigration module against a real Azure environment.
In-person session at Azure Meetup Casteddu introducing the Azure Developer CLI (azd): how it streamlines provisioning and deployment of Azure solutions with templates, environments and CI/CD integration, with live demos.
