Delivered a session at Adriatics Tech Summit (ATS) with the title “PIMp Your Administration – Real-World Scenarios from the Field” focusing on practical implementation of Privileged Identity Management (PIM) in Microsoft Entra ID. The session demonstrated that PIM is not a plug-and-play solution and requires consideration of operational processes, dependencies, and real-world impact on administrators. It covered integration with Conditional Access, Administrative Units, and Microsoft Security Copilot, supported by hands-on demos. This perspective resonated strongly with attendees and led to multiple in-depth discussions during and after the session, particularly around real-world implementation challenges and operational considerations.
7-hour deep dive masterclass delivered at Experts Live Denmark for ~250 attendees, co-developed over six months with fellow MVPs Jan Vidar Elven, Thomas Naunheim, Pim Jacobs and myself, together with Microsoft PM Merill Fernando. The session combined a comprehensive slide deck with a hands-on lab environment (on GitHub) and was delivered in a rotating format by the instructors, allowing different perspectives on Microsoft Entra ID governance, Privileged Identity Management, and Zero Trust administration. The session received strong engagement beyond the scheduled time, with continued attendee conversations throughout the conference and post-event community interest in the published lab materials
Delivered a technical session at Hydrid Identity Protection Conference Europe 2026 in Frankfurt titled “PIMp Your Administration: Strengthening Zero Trust with Entra ID.” The session demonstrated advanced Microsoft Entra Privileged Identity Management (PIM) scenarios and practical Zero Trust implementation patterns, including integration with Protected Actions, Access Packages, Lifecycle Workflows, and Microsoft Security Copilot.
This session focuses on the often‑overlooked topic of backup and recovery in Microsoft Entra ID. Many administrators assume their tenant configuration is inherently protected, yet practical testing shows significant gaps. I demonstrated what can realistically exported, restored, or safeguarded using Microsoft‑native capabilities such as Graph API and Entra Exporter. The session was fully vendor neutral and did not promote any commercial products. Using real world scenarios across Conditional Access, Administrative Units, and Groups, I highlighted actual risks and effective safeguards with built‑in functionality. Attendees received actionable guidance to improve operational resilience and reduce the impact of accidental changes or deletions in Entra ID.
Backups have always been fundamental to cyber resilience. So why are they so often neglected when it comes to Microsoft Entra ID? Learn what truly matters when it comes to protecting your Entra ID configuration. We’ll explore some essential questions, including which parts of Entra ID can be backed up, how deleted objects behave, and how to use built-in Microsoft technologies to restore certain objects. The session concludes with a look at preventive strategies and features that, when used wisely, can help you avoid losing critical configurations.
