📋 Biography
Seit vielen Jahren begleite ich aus der Microsoft-Partnerlandschaft heraus die Entwicklung der Microsoft-Cloud-Lösungen – von den Anfängen mit der „Business Productivity Online Suite“ (BPOS) bis hin zu Microsoft 365 und Microsoft Copilot. Meine Leidenschaft gilt insbesondere Microsoft Teams. Aktuell bin ich bei der IT-HAUS GmbH, einem IT-Systemhaus mit knapp 400 Mitarbeitenden, tätig. Zusammen mit meinen Teams unterstütze ich vorwiegend kleine und mittelständische Unternehmen u. a. bei der Entwicklung ihrer IT-Strategie sowie bei der technischen Umsetzung von Lösungen auf Basis von Microsoft 365 für eine moderne und sichere Zusammenarbeit von überall. Ich bin kein klassischer „Tecchie”, sondern habe immer den Blick auf einfache, pragmatische Lösungen für Endanwender und die Geschäftsmodelle der Kunden.

In many cases, the root cause is not the network connection, but the way Microsoft Teams transmits screen content by default. This article explains how Teams handles screen sharing from a technical perspective, the role of automatic video detection, and when it makes sense to use the “Optimize for video” option. The inspiration for this article came from a Reddit post by the Microsoft Teams Product Group, which sparked a deeper look into how optimized screen sharing actually works in practice.
